TLDR: An exceptional meal, and our server Konstantine was incredible (knowledgeable, funny, attentive, accommodating). The restaurant's interior is beautiful, spacious, and well-lit. The complimentary house bread is freshly baked, topped with toasted sesame seeds, and just so good. I wish we had this place in SF! ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] Kopoglu (eggplant and yogurt, 5/5) - Eggplant was roasted beautifully and the sauce was perfectly garlicky and addicting. Use the complimentary house bread to scoop up every last bit of this 2. [MUST TRY] Ahtapot (Octopus, 5/5) - one of the best octopus dishes I've ever had. So tender, with crispy edges. 3. Damla sakizli dondurma (5/5) - Loved this dense ice cream that had a wonderfully creamy texture and not too sweet taste. 4. Grilled Meagre (Fish, 4.5/5) - a seasonal special fish, priced per pound. Meyhouse is known for its seafood and flies its fish out from Greece every 16 hours. Our waiter deboned the fish for us, and he + his partner plated fish and salad on individual plates before passing them out to each of us at the table. This fish took a while to come out, so keep that in mind, but it was well worth it 5. Patirmali Humus (4/5) - A unique humus taste. I bet this is not for everyone so not a must-order in my mind 6. Hamsi Tava (4/5) - Fried anchovies that aren't breaded so they're truly just fried fish with fresh lemon. I liked them but probably wouldn't get again, though others at the table loved them. A very healthy choice. ------ SERVICE: * EXCEPTIONAL service from Konstantine. Not sure if every waiter here is like him but would highly recommend you ask for him if you can * Wait staff came around constantly to make sure our cups were full and plates were cleared ------ AMBIANCE / ENVIRONMENT: * Beautiful and grand restaurant * The front door is a little unassuming and can even be missed if you're not paying attention * For lunchtime, and I'm sure even for dinner time, the windows let in so much natural light * When you walk in you can see them baking their fresh bread and putting other dishes in their oven * Lots of parking on the street nearby or at the town center parking garage
We had an amazing meal here. It was our first time so we considered doing the tasting menu but opted for a la carte. We got 2 appetizers, an entree each and dessert. Everything was so good! Our server greeted us right away and talked us through the appetizers and answered our questions. Throughout the experience he kept checking on us as well as the food runner who were there filling water and asking how we were doing without being too much in our business. We got an early reservation (5:30) and we were one of the few parties there but it quickly started getting busy - we can see why! The restaurant is beautiful and simple while still remaining chic. You can see some of the kitchen where they are grilling. Loved it! And do yourself a favor and get the dessert!
Great place to hang out and relax but be prepared to spend $$$$$$$$. $95 per person on the little bit of everything offering plus wine bottle and a glass of white wine so in the end, Our bill was well over $600 for 4 people with the food you see on the photos. They add tips on 6 or more automatically. Taste is on point and servers are super friendly. 4 stars due to prices on food and portions but will rate again after a few more visits. Plenty of parking at the public garage.
Oh my gosh, I don't know where to start. A group of 6 of us were here for Father's Day dinner. They had two seatings starting at 5:15 and the other at 7:15 PM. We went to the early one and there weren't very many people initially but folks started piling in. Oh my goodness, I know why! Absolutely everything we had was delicious! We started out with the fried anchovies and the Patlician Salatasi. The anchovies were nice and crisp. Somebody at the table was concerned about the anchovies being salty but we assured them that they're not the overly salted ones that you get on pizza. They were delish! The Patlician Salatasi, oh my goodness, the garlic sauce was strong but not overpowering. It went so well with the fresh, hot bread that they served. Onto the mains. All of the meats and seafood were cooked to perfection. Everything was seasoned very well. Everyone tried a bit from others and we all agreed that you couldn't go wrong in ordering. Onto dessert. Again, the same person who was concerned about the anchovies had concerns about baklava being too sweet. We ordered 3 plates which consists of 6 baklava, or 1 for each person. It was sooo good! One person ordered the rice pudding and I had a spoonful. It was custardy with a slight sweetness to it. I may have to order it next time! Speaking of next time, we'll try the Sunnyvale location since it's closer to home. I'll be thinking about this meal for a while however, as it was so good.
INSANEEE FOOD!! one of the best meals i've had in a while I originally went to the sunnyvale one and then menu there may have been a different? I loved that one too though Anyways I had the same appetizer that must be one of the best dips I've had. It was the Kopoglu - it's an eggplant yogurt dip with tomato wow. just out of this world, so fresh and light. We also had an amazing fava bean dip. I will say that the meal somehow got better with our entree - I got the Levrek which was a light lemony branzino wow. If i had to choose a death row meal, this would be it My mom got the same and ate my leftovers for lunch. My brother got the Cemenli Tavuk which he raved about as well. It was an amazing chicken dish. You can't go wrong here. One of my top 5 in the bay area.
I recently visited Meyhouse with a friend on a Saturday night, and we had a wonderful dining experience. We ordered multiple appetizers, drinks, and an entree each. I particularly loved my food, especially the lamb chops. They were so good that my friend, after trying them, wished he had ordered them too. The food was super flavorful, and our server was quite nice. The restaurant has a classy ambiance, making it a great spot for dates while also being suitable for larger groups. I would definitely go again and highly recommend it to others.
I loved this place!! The food was sooo good, service was amazing, and ambiance was exactly what I was looking for for our team dinner. The lamb chops were sooo good and tender. Definitely recommend getting! Overall highly recommend
Boyfriend's family and I came on a Friday night with reservations at 8:15pm. Be sure to book because it does get very crowded! Our waiter was very friendly, but service was quite slow, and we struggled to get his attention. We did encounter one hiccup with another waiter and chef when they denied a re-fire of specially requested potatoes for my boyfriend's mom. She asked for plain potatoes, no lemon or pepper, due to her dietary restrictions. The first batch of potatoes were clearly sour; we all tried it. We asked for a re-fire, waiter went to ask chef, and chef brought it back to our table. We waited for another waiter to help us, and fortunately he brought us a new batch that were actually plain potatoes!!! Anyways, the place was very beautiful and modern with a Mediterranean feel. We started with complimentary pita bread that were warm, fluffy, and so yummy! For appetizers, we ordered levrek marim/salt-cured seabass ($18), turkmen mantisi/Turkish dumplings ($18), and ahtapot/grilled octopus ($22). All the appetizers were great. Cured seabass was fresh and lemony bright. Dumplings were wrapped delicately thin, filling was delicious, and yogurt sauce was tarte and creamy. Octopus was cooked perfectly and accompanying sauced paired well. For mains, I ordered the lamb chops ($54), and it was pretty good. I was hoping the mint pistachio was a crust on the chops, but it was just on the side. The lamb itself was cooked well and not too gamey. The dill potatoes were ok, just boiled potatoes tossed in dill. My boyfriend's antrikot/ribeye ($69) was also cooked well, juicy, and tender. The mashed potatoes were more enjoyable but more sour. My boyfriend's mom ordered the levrek/whole branzino ($49), baked plain with salt on the side. They were very accommodating to her restrictions. As I mentioned above, her potatoes were made with lemon but were corrected to plain. She said the fish was not as good as the last time. For dessert, we ordered profiteroles ($16), sutlac/rice pudding ($13), and damla sakizla dondurm/ice cream ($12). The cold rice pudding was the best! It was creamy, light, and the toasted top was nicely caramelized. Profiteroles were a pass; they were swimming in chocolate so that's all you really taste. The ice cream was pretty good, very refreshing, and had a unique flavor. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here. The atmosphere is lively, the food and drinks are great, and the service was good. I'd definitely recommend this place and visit again!
Meyhouse opened last August. I've been eyeing it for some time and came here for my bday celebration with my highschool girlfriends. We were a party of 6, great for trying more dishes! | Ambiance | With pendant lighting and greenery hanging from a high ceiling, the space is gorgeous. We came here for lunch and the main dining hall was flooded with comfortable natural lights coming in from the frosted skylights. They also have a speakeasy space with regular music performances for folks who want to watch/listen to a performance over a drink or meal. Check their website for dates and prices. The space can also be used for private dining, accommodating ~30. | Service | Wonderful service! Attentive but not overly so. Good pace of food. Big shout out to Randall who took great care of us. It was a nice touch that a birthday card was displayed at the table in recognition of my bday celebration; it's nice of them to also comp one of our desserts. Randall asked before coming by with another member of the wait staff to sing me happy birthday; that was very thoughtful as some might be embarrassed for the attention. I, on the other hand, loved their voices and enjoyed the little celebration with my girlfriends. | Food | We ordered a fair amount of food. My favs were: - Köpoğlu: Oven roasted eggplant and peppers with tomato sauce, yogurt (gf) - Çemenli Tavuk: Organic Mary's Chicken thigh marinated with yogurt-fenugreek, over toasted. Juicy and flavorful! - Baklava: I always love Baklava regardless but it does tend to be on the sweet side. Theirs is surprisingly not too sweet, and was quite a balanced and delicious dessert. I'll be thinking about it for some time. We weren't crazy about the Üç Börek: Trio filling of rolled borek, zucchini, cheese, pastirma. It was a bit salty for my liking, whichever piece I got. The Ahtapot (Mesquite fire grilled Galician octopus) was good but I would've wanted a little more charred. Pricing was higher than your average lunch at $56 per person for what we got; but that isn't unusual for the area. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would return for celebrations or when we want a little Turkish treat!
My first impression of the restaurant was that the ambiance was on point. I love the high ceilings and nice lighting. I made the reservation by phone for the same day and the service from the phone call to the restaurant was phenomenal. Our server was attentive and suggested some great food options. Food recommendations: - Turkmen Mantisi (the yogurt was especially creamy and a nice touch to the dumplings - Ahtapot (octopus was grilled to perfection and the gambilya fava was delicious) - Ege Salatasi (just your regular greek salad but refreshing nontheless - Lamb Chops (juicy and delicious) - Chilean Seabass (super flakey and seasoned well)
